Welcome to the website of the 2012 HPV World Championships!
The 2012 WHPVA World Championships will be held in England at Fowlmead country park in Deal, Kent on the 8th, 9th and 10th of June 2012.
This is an event where people from all over Europe and possibly further afield will race some of the world's most efficient and advanced pedal cycles in existance. We have only a very minimal rule-set for basic safety but none of the restrictive and arbitrary rules so often imposed by most cycling organisations which stifle innovation. Here amateur cyclists will be achiving speeds in excess of 40mph on the flat riding machines at the cutting edge of bicycle technology.
The event is open to anyone, there is no pre-qualification needed and you can ride pretty much any pedal cycle you wish, bicycle, tricycle, quad, foot powered, hand powered, race a unicycle if you really want. There will be several races over the 3 day period ranging from a 100 meter flying start sprint to a 2 hour mass start circuit race. Points will be allocated to the racers for each race and the rider with the most points at the end will be declared world champion!

Updated - Parking at Fowlmead
There is normally a fee of £1.50 per weekday and £2.00 per day at weekends. The management at fowlmead have generously let us park for the duration of the event by buying one ticket from their machines, this for competitors, official attendees and helpers. General spectators/visitors will have to pay the daily parking fee.
To obtain this discount you must also obtain a Parking Permit from the registration area and display it in your vehicle along with a ticket bought from the machine when first arriving at the event.
Parking for campers will be trackside and next to your tent. If you are not camping then you must park in the one and half parking areas furthest from the Visitors Centre.
If you do not pay and display then Fowlmead staff will take action as they do for any non displaying vehicle.

Numbers
Numbers have been allocated. If you wish to see your number, please see the entries section. Adhesive numbers will be provided at the event but you can make your own custom numbers if you desire. Please display your number on the front and the left hand side of your machine, make sure you have somewhere to apply the numbers.
New lap video
A new video showing the track has been added to the circuit page. This one is better quality. Note that it is filmed from the viewpoint of an upright bike and thus the track appears narrower than it would from a recumbent.
Note from Mike
Things coming together nicely, T-shirts and pottery are ordered, pic is of the Bentwaters set. More of the same but different for this year, and I hope to have a sample T-shirt at Hillingdon.
